QHSE Director
Build and lead the integrated QHSE function for Denmark’s most unique defense-tech scale-up. You will hold the ultimate authority to ensure safety and precision as we grow from the ground up.
About FPRT
FirePoint Rocket Technology is building one of the most unique and strategically important industrial projects in Denmark — a new production facility for solid rocket propellant and advanced defense-tech components. Our ambition is significant: we are scaling from the early operational phase to 350+ employees within the next 18 months.
Joining us now means becoming part of the core team shaping a new high-tech, safety-critical production environment from the ground up. We are looking for a QHSE Director who will act as an independent compliance leader, ensuring that the company scales safely, compliantly, and with robust operational discipline.
The Role
As the QHSE Director, you are responsible for building and leading the integrated Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment function across the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will ensure that product quality, process compliance, and occupational safety are governed through one coherent management system.
This role is the ultimate authority on operational risk; you will have the authority and mandate to challenge practices and stop operations and production that create unacceptable quality, safety, or environmental risks. You will lead a dedicated team including the Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager, and HSE Manager.
What You Will Do
1. Integrated QHSE Leadership
Build and lead the overall QHSE function for the site and future scale-up phases.
Establish an integrated management system covering quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Ensure strong governance and clear interfaces between QA, QC, HSE, and Production.
2. Quality & HSE Governance
Own the overall quality governance model, ensuring QA manages standards, audits, and certifications while QC operates as an independent operational control.
Ensure the site has a robust HSE system aligned with Danish legislation and international standards.
Build a strong "safety-first" and "right-first-time" culture across both blue-collar and white-collar populations.
3. Compliance & Risk Assurance
Oversee readiness for ISO, AQAP, customer, regulatory, and authority inspections.
Act as the senior escalation point for critical QHSE risks and non-conformities.
Introduce practical control mechanisms for traceability, batch integrity, and data reliability.
4. Capability Building
Build and develop the QHSE team, routines, and management cadence.
Collaborate with HR on training matrices, role qualifications, and competence governance.
Ensure lessons learned are converted into systemic improvements rather than local fixes.
What We Offer
A rare career opportunity to lead the entire QHSE function for one of Denmark's most unique industrial and defense-tech projects.
A role where your leadership directly enables the safe scaling of a high-tech production environment.
A professional, international environment with a clear mission and purpose.
Top-of-market compensation for the right experience.
Brand-new factory and equipment.
Modern office with gym, sauna, and social spaces.
Real authority, Greenfield impact, and Work that protects freedom and life.
What We Are Looking For
You are an independent, principled, and highly structured leader who remains calm under pressure. You are practical enough for the factory floor but strategic enough for complex system design.
Requirements:
Experience: Proven track record leading Quality, QHSE, or Compliance functions in a manufacturing environment.
Industry Background: Experience from defense, aerospace, chemicals, pharma, or other highly regulated, safety-critical industries.
Technical Mastery: Deep familiarity with ISO standards, AQAP, audit structures, CAPA, and operational risk management.
Scale-up Mindset: Experience building functions in greenfield or scale-up environments is a strong advantage.
Integrity: High level of independence and confidence in challenging operational decisions when needed.
Leadership: Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to combine strategic building and practical execution.
