Process Chemist
Does Chemical engineering, stability and safety motivate you?
About FPRT
FirePoint Rocket Technology is building one of the most unique and strategically important industrial projects in Denmark - a new production facility for solid rocket propellant and advanced defense-tech components. Our ambition is significant: we are scaling from the early operational phase to 350+ employees within the next 18 months.
Joining us now means becoming part of the core team shaping a new high-tech, safety-critical production environment from the ground up.
We are looking for a Process Chemist who will act as the operational eye of the chemical process, guaranteeing the stability, safety, and quality of our solid propellant manufacturing.
The Role
As the Process Chemist, you will be the frontline chemical controller, focusing on in-process chemical control from material preparation and mixing to polymerization. You will report to the Chemical Manager. This role is paramount for ensuring that every batch conforms to defined recipe specifications and safety requirements before, during, and after processing.
What You Will Do
1. Operational Monitoring & Control
Perform daily in-process chemical monitoring during mixing, vacuuming, and polymerization stages.
Check and verify critical parameters such as viscosity, temperature, vacuum level, and reaction stability.
Ensure adherence to recipe-specific instructions and operational limits defined in SOPs.
2. Sampling & Analytical Testing
Collect samples at defined control points, including after material preparation, mixing, and polymerization.
Conduct laboratory tests on mixtures and intermediates, including moisture analysis, viscosity and density measurements, and reaction stability assessments.
Maintain sample identification, labeling, and full traceability according to internal quality procedures.
3. Documentation & Data Integrity
Record all measurements, batch test results, and observations in laboratory logs or LIMS/ERP systems.
Ensure traceability of all chemical batches and results, including documentation of deviations and corrective actions.
4. Deviation & Issue Escalation
Immediately report any deviations, abnormalities, or safety concerns to the Senior Chemical Engineer or Shift Manager.
Participate in preliminary root-cause analyses (RCA) for process-related quality issues.
What We Offer
A rare career opportunity to contribute directly to one of Denmark's most unique industrial and defense-tech projects.
A role where your precision directly determines the chemical stability and reliability of safety-critical products.
A professional, international environment with a clear mission and purpose.
Top-of-market compensation for the right experience.
Brand-new factory & equipment
Modern office with gym, sauna & social spaces
Real authority, Greenfield impact, Zero toxic colture, Mastery over busywork
Work that protects freedom and life
Relocation support within Denmark for candidates moving from other regions.
What We Are Looking For
You are highly responsible, detail-oriented, and focused on maintaining high standards of data accuracy and safety.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science.
Experience:
2-5 years of laboratory or process experience in chemical, polymer, propellant, or related manufacturing industries.
Hands-on experience with analytical instruments (moisture analyzers, viscometers, balances, temperature/vacuum sensors).
Familiarity with chemical safety standards and documentation systems (SOPs, LIMS, or ERP).
English proficiency (written and spoken).
