Utilities & Energy Manager
Can you ensure critical stability of our production with cost-effective operation on all utility systems (electricity, gas, water, air, heating, cooling and ventilation)?
About FPRT
FirePoint Rocket Technology (FPRT) is building one of the most unique and strategically important industrial projects in Denmark—a new production facility for solid rocket propellant and advanced defense-tech components. Our ambition is significant: we are scaling from the early operational phase to 350+ employees within the next 18 months.
Joining us now means becoming part of the core team shaping a new high-tech, safety-critical production environment from the ground up. We are looking for a Utilities & Energy Manager who will ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operation of all critical utility systems, which are paramount for production stability and facility safety.
The Role Mission
The Utilities & Energy Manager is the essential link ensuring the continuous, optimized supply of all plant utility systems. This includes electricity, gas, water, heating, cooling, ventilation, and compressed air, all critical for propellant production. This role is responsible for maintaining 24/7 operational continuity, optimizing energy consumption, and supporting compliance with Danish and EU environmental regulations.
You will report to the Facility Manager and functionally collaborate with the COO, HSE Manager, Maintenance & Engineering Lead, and Procurement Manager, among others.
What You Will Do
1. Utility Systems Operation & Reliability
Ensure the continuous and safe operation of all site utilities, including electrical supply (HV/LV), natural gas systems, water supply, compressed air, and climate-control systems (HVAC).
Develop preventive maintenance schedules, ensuring timely inspections, calibration, and repairs for all utility systems.
Supervise control systems (SCADA/BMS), respond to critical alarms, and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
2. Energy Management & Optimization
Monitor, analyze, and optimize energy consumption (electricity, gas, water) across all production and facility zones.
Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, cost reduction, and sustainability improvements.
Prepare regular reports on energy consumption, costs, and $\text{CO}_2$ emissions, supporting ESG and sustainability reporting.
3. Compliance, Safety, and Readiness
Ensure all systems operate according to Danish regulations, EU directives, and HSE standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments for gas and electrical systems, ventilation, and emissions.
Develop contingency plans for power outages, gas supply interruptions, or HVAC system failures, and coordinate with Facility and HSE for drills.
4. Contract and Project Support
Manage contracts with external energy suppliers (electricity, gas, water, waste) and technical service providers.
Negotiate service agreements, monitor SLA and safety compliance, and select service partners.
Provide technical input on CAPEX projects related to energy infrastructure or plant expansions, supporting utility integration and commissioning.
Decision-Making Authority
You will have the confidence and integrity to make critical operational decisions including:
Approving operational changes to utility parameters (within defined safety limits).
Approving preventive maintenance schedules and system interventions.
Initiating shutdowns of utility systems in case of risk to personnel or operations.
What We Offer
A rare career opportunity to lead the utility and energy function for one of Denmark's most unique industrial and defense-tech projects.
A role where your expertise directly determines the stability and safety of a critical production environment.
This is a greenfield setup with no legacy processes or inherited constraints
The project is backed by long-term industrial investment and is not a startup
A professional leadership team with clear responsibilities.
Top-of-market compensation for the right experience.
Brand-new factory & equipment.
Modern office with gym, sauna & social spaces
Real authority, Greenfield impact, Zero toxic culture, Mastery over busywork.
Work that protects freedom and life.
What We Are Looking For
You are a highly structured, independent, and safety-conscious leader with a proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Energy, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience: 7+ years in utilities, facility engineering, or energy management in industrial or chemical manufacturing.
Technical Expertise: Strong technical understanding of electrical, HVAC, and gas systems in high-safety environments.
Systems Knowledge: Proven experience with energy monitoring systems (BMS, SCADA, EMS).
Compliance: Familiarity with Danish energy regulations and ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, or similar frameworks.
Contract Management: Experience in contract and supplier management for energy utilities.
Language: Fluent in English, and Danish.
