Senior Process Engineer / Technology Manager
Own the technical core of rocket propellant manufacturing ensuring safety, stability, and yield during our massive scale-up at FPRT.
About FPRT
FirePoint Rocket Technology is building one of the most unique and strategically important industrial projects in Denmark — a new production facility for solid rocket propellant and advanced defense-tech components. Our ambition is significant: we are scaling from the early operational phase to 350+ employees within the next 18 months.
Joining us now means becoming part of the core team shaping a new high-tech, safety-critical production environment from the ground up. We are now looking for a Senior Process Engineer who will be the technology owner ensuring the technical stability, safety, and repeatability of our complex manufacturing process.
The Role
As our Senior Process (Technology) Engineer, you will be the bridge between laboratory chemistry and real industrial production. You will own all physical process parameters for the rocket propellant manufacturing process - from material preparation and mixing to polymerization, demolding, and assembly.
Your mission is to ensure that each batch runs safely, consistently, and efficiently, with minimal deviations, optimal yield, and full process control. You will report directly to the Chief Production Officer (CPO) and collaborate closely with the Chief Chemical Engineer, Maintenance & Engineering Lead, Quality Control Manager, and HSE Lead.
This is a hands-on, highly technical role where you will work on-site during critical phases (mixing, polymerization, demolding), ideal for a structured problem-solver with a strong background in controlled processes.
What You Will Do
Process Ownership & Control
Translate chemical recipes into operational parameters (temperature, vacuum, mixing speed, polymerization time), and own the process stability of production runs.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Process Control Standards for all process stages.
Prepare and verify process readiness before every production batch, ensuring equipment is calibrated and setups are correct.
Troubleshooting & Improvement
Conduct troubleshooting and lead root-cause investigations for any deviations, scrap, or yield loss.
Lead Continuous Process Improvement (CIP) initiatives to reduce variability, improve cycle time, and optimize consumption.
Support commissioning and validation of new or modified equipment (mixers, polymerization ovens, demolding systems).
Collaboration & Safety
Coordinate closely with the Chief Chemist to ensure lab recipes can be safely scaled to production and meet chemical requirements.
Collaborate with Automation & Data specialists for MES/PLC integration, alarms, and real-time monitoring of critical process variables.
Ensure full HSE compliance and guarantee all operations meet safety standards for handling reactive or explosive materials.
What We Offer
A rare career opportunity: own the core manufacturing process for one of Denmark's most unique industrial and defense-tech projects.
High ownership and the authority to adjust process parameters and stop production in case of safety risks.
A role where your expertise has an immediate and visible impact on safety, consistency, and yield.
A professional, international environment with a clear mission and purpose.
Top-of-market compensation for the right experience.
What We Are Looking For
You are a decisive, analytical, and hands-on Process Engineer with a safety-first mindset who thrives in high-precision, safety-critical environments.
Education: MSc in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Experience: 5+ years in process engineering or manufacturing, preferably in chemical, polymer, or defense-grade propellant production.
Technical Expertise: Strong background in temperature-, pressure-, and vacuum-controlled processes.
Documentation: Proven experience creating and validating SOPs and process documentation.
Improvement: Understanding of Lean / Six Sigma / Kaizen methods for process improvement.
Tools: Familiarity with MES / PLC / SCADA systems and basic process automation.
Skills: Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving (e.g., 5 Whys, FMEA, Pareto).
